GENERAL INFORMATION

Summer Academy in practical dermatology and aesthetic medicine,will be held from 30 May  to 02 June 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel and the Military Medical Academy – Sofia.

It consists of scientific session and practical courses.
The scientific session will be held at the Sheraton Hotel.

Summer Academy will provide a rich industrial exhibition of leading pharmaceutical and cosmetics companies, and manufacturers in the field of aesthetic medicine.

LANGUAGE

The official languages of the Summer Academy are English and Bulgarian. Foreign speakers will be provided with simultaneous translation.

TRANSPORT

The distance between the Sheraton hotel and the Military Medical Academy is about  30 minutes on foot.

 

 

 

LOCATION

Sofia (from Ancient Greek σοφία – ‘wisdom’) is the capital and largest city of Bulgaria and the 12th largest city by population of the European Union. The population is about 1 317 672 people which is   17% of national population.
It is located in western (part of) Bulgaria at the foot of  the Vitosha mountain, in the Sofia Valley which is surrounded by mountains on all sides.  

The territory of the city is 492 square kilometers and at average altitude of 550 meters. It is the fourth highest capital of Europe.
The rivers Vladaiska and Perlovska flow across the city. The upper course of the Iskar river flows near eastern Sofia.  

There are spas in downtown as well as in Ovcha Kupel, Knyajevo, Gorna Banya, Pancharevo. Sofia has humid continental climate.

Sofia is the major administrative, industrial, cultural, and educational center of the country. The Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, many universities, theatres, museums, cinemas, the National Atr Gallery, archeological, historical, and other museums  are located there.

The name ‘Sofia’ originates from the ex cathedral of the city - St.Sofia. Sofia becomes capital in 1879.

 

WEATHER

The weather is hot and sunny at this time of the year. The highest temperatures are about 25-30 degree C and the lowest - 10-15 degree C.
During the first half of the month rainfalls might be expected.
